I haven’t traveled in years, and I’m beginning to think that this is dulling the ol’ writin’ skills.<\/p>\n
It’s been 10 years since I left the continent. I’m not sure I’ve really lived since then.<\/p>\n
But it seems like I have. I finished putting myself through college, had a couple of real jobs, moved a few times, watched my mother die, got married, got myself into a box. Somewhere \u00a0in all that time, my creative output has gone from pretty darn good (for a state school grad) to more or less\u00a0jejune. I get caught up wondering if I would have achieved greater things given more money, better circumstances, happier times.<\/p>\n
I find myself at the crossroads of not-so-bad and not-so-good. So,\u00a0I’m hitting the books again. It’s what writers should do aside from writing. I need to absorb the good and the solid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
